Allegro Media Group announced today that it had completed the acquisition of VDI Entertainment Canada, the Canadian DVD distribution arm of VDI Entertainment. The division will be merged with Allegro Entertainment Canada.
Bill Ott, currently general manager of VDI Entertainment Canada will retain the same position. No management changes are anticipated.
Joseph Micallef Chairman and CEO of Allegro described the acquisition as a good fit with Allegro’s existing Canadian subsidairy. “The acquisition will significantly expand the company’s Canadian customer base and its DVD distribution capabilities in Canada.” Bill Ott, General Manager of VDI Entertainment Canada noted that “the combination of VDI Canada’s distribution operations coupled with Allegro Entertainment Canada’s distribution footprint and DVD catalog significantly expand our capabilities in the Canadian market and give us the capital to significantly grow this division.” The Allegro Media Group is one of the largest vertically integrated independent media companies in North America with annual revenues of approximately $100 million.
